About UsGeorgia began with the intention of having little land and no slavery. However, their goal fell through. When Georgia became a "Royal Colony" in 1752, at this point the agriculture, lands, plantations and slavery grew dramatically and played a major role in the economy. Georgia was the first group of the states to ratify the new Constitution after the revolutionary war ended.
